Ebola Partnership Project: Sierra Leone

Doctors Worldwide worked with King’s College Sierra Leone Partnership (KSLP). KSLP is an academic Centre within King’s College, London and had been working at the main Connaught Government Hospital in Freetown, Sierra Leone well before the outbreak earlier in 2014.

Staffed by UK volunteer medics and other health professionals, they did a fantastic job in supporting the Sierra Leone Ministry of Health and the Connaught Hospital.

At the Connaught Government Hospital, KSLP had set up an 11-bed isolation facility and worked with MSF and WHO to write a Ebola preparedness and clinical management plan which was then disseminated across the country. The team advised 29 other hospitals in the Western Area on the Ebola response.

Doctors Worldwide disseminated the call out for volunteers and support through our network of donors and volunteers.
